Ingram Expands Content and Patron-Driven Acquisition Solutions for Libraries

La Vergne, TN, September 20, 2014 --(PR.com)-- Ingram Content Group Inc. today announced it has enhanced the patron-driven acquisition (PDA) tools available for e-books on its OASIS platform for academic libraries.

Through an enhanced integration with EBSCO Information Services, libraries have access to a greater range of e-book content and collection development options through the OASIS platform. With new functionality, OASIS customers also have the option to include EBSCO e-books in Ingram Coutts profiles and can elect to have those e-books added to PDA collections in already established workflows.

"We know there is a large demand for e-books in the library community, and that patron driven acquisition solutions are helping libraries preserve their budget while maintaining control over collection development processes," said Dan Sheehan, Vice President and General Manager, Coutts Information Services, an Ingram company. "We’re pleased to strengthen our relationship with EBSCO as we continue to grow and expand the content and functionality within our OASIS platform for our customers.”

The OASIS platform supports a wide range of titles from publishers and e-book vendors, including content from Ingram's MyiLibrary platform, to supply the broadest selection of content to customers worldwide.

“The patron driven acquisition enhancement is another example of how the integration between EBSCO and Ingram gives mutual customers the options they need to choose the solution that works for them," said Ken Breen, Vice President of Product Management, EBSCO eBooks.

The OASIS platform, Ingram's academic content platform for its library company Coutts Information Services, is a comprehensive online library interface for bibliographic information and searching, book and e-book acquisition, collection development and workflow management. Through the OASIS platform, libraries are able to access a database of millions of titles; search, select and manage orders online; download records; monitor standing orders; manage approval plans and new title notification plans; track orders and access reporting information.
