Grandell Rehab and Nursing Center is Ready for the New School Year

Grandell Rehab and Nursing Center shares some back to school tips.

Long Beach, NY, September 25, 2014 --(PR.com)-- The new school year is here and for most children it comes with a sense of trepidation and anxiety. A new school year comes with both social and academic pressures. It is important to help your child get the new school year started right.

• Turn of the TV. Start getting your child off the couch and onto the floor playing with toys or doing crosswords and puzzles. These games are good for stimulating his brain and getting his mind sharpened to be prepared for a new year of academic challenges.

• Let your child pick out his or her own new school clothing. Seeing that you’ve been out of junior high for a while, it is a good idea to let your child select his or her own wardrobe, within reason of course. Your child should feel comfortable in whatever he or she will be wearing.

• Plan and prepare healthy lunches. Now is a good time to get ahead of the game and start clipping recipes for healthy lunches and snacks. Prepare a box and mark it “healthy school food.” Throw in all the quick and easy recipes as you come across them. This will prevent last minute scrambling for lunch ideas twenty minutes before the bus comes.

“The Grandell Rehab and Nursing Center family understands how difficult getting back into the school routine can be. We hope that some of these tips prove to be helpful in getting back into the school rhythm,” says Alison Anchin, administrator at Grandell Rehab and Nursing Center.
