The DocSafe Announces the Launch of Ashley's SafePack

Inspired by Ashley’s story and her family’s desire to fight for others in similar situations, The DocSafe is pleased to power its new program, Ashley’s SafePack. The SafePack is a virtual safe deposit box for domestic violence victims to safely upload and store their important documents free of charge. They'll then be able to access them anywhere with an Internet connection, hopefully making their exit both easier and safer.

Tampa, FL, September 29, 2014 --(PR.com)-- Ashley Hall (Atherley) had everything going for her. She was smart, beautiful and grew up in a loving family. She had two wonderful children, a great job and a very bright future. Behind her cheerful disposition, though, was a serious threat. Ashley was a victim of domestic violence who was brutally murdered by her husband.

Ashley kept a “safepack” at her office filled with all of her important papers. If it was not for her safepack, her family would have had a very difficult time keeping her children out of foster care and bringing her body back to Tampa for her final resting place. Had Ashley lived, those documents would have helped her to start a new chapter in her life.

Inspired by Ashley’s story and her family’s lifelong commitment to fight for others in similar situations, The DocSafe (www.thedocsafe.com) is pleased to power its new program, Ashley’s SafePack. The SafePack is a virtual safe deposit box for domestic violence victims to safely upload and store their important documents free of charge. They will then be able to access them anywhere with an Internet connection, hopefully making their exit both easier and safer.

"I feel like this is a really good tool to help keep women safe especially when used in conjunction with a professionally trained advocate at one of the centers," said Mindy Murphy, President/CEO of The Spring of Tampa Bay. "We always say that victims should not try to do this alone."

Murphy pointed out that abusers often use these important documents as a method of control.

"Now she'll have those documents stored electronically, so she can access them from anywhere and she doesn't have to feel like I can't leave because I don't have Johnny's birth certificate," Murphy said. "The more documentation they have, the more likely they are to get things restored to them that rightfully belong to them."

Ashley's mother, Lucia Robles, knows that she cannot bring her daughter back, but, with tools like The DocSafe, if she "could save just one young lady like her that would be okay."

About The DocSafe: The DocSafe (www.thedocsafe.com) was created by a Florida estate planning attorney and a Wisconsin certified public accountant who recognized the need for this new approach in their practices. Many of their clients either were snowbirds or retired to Florida, while their adult children remained in a northern state. Because of this physical separation, they expressed concern about the quality and speed of their medical care should they become disabled. Today, they can confidently use The DocSafe to maintain their critical and most important documents so that their loved ones can help them quickly and efficiently.
