Superkids Stand Up to Bullying: Free Anti-Bullying Workshop Sponsored by Investors Bank & the Martial Arts Arena

Local children pledge to Take Action & Stand Up to Bullying and learn how to Identify, Avoid & Stop Bullying.

Matawan, NJ, October 01, 2014 --(PR.com)-- Local Children participate in a free Done with Bullying Workshop on Saturday, October 11th at The Martial Arts Arena. The purpose of this workshop is to help children of all ages overcome the negative impact of bullying. This workshop teaches participants the 3 As; Awareness, Avoidance, Assertiveness.

Dosomething.org cites that 90% of 4th through 8th graders report being victims of bullying. So the goal of this program is to minimize the effects of predatory behavior in grade school and middle school-aged children. This will be accomplished through role playing, small group discussions and empathy training.

Although the program can be taught in four sessions over the course of several workshops, the workshop on Saturday, October 11th will be a single intensive. This program is designed for dealing with school and neighborhood scenarios. Topics include:
• Part I - What is bullying? Why do people do it? Why is it bad to bully others?
• Part II - What should we/shouldn't we do when we see others being bullied?
• Part III - How should you deal with bullying?
• Part IV - Buddying

This dynamic workshop is all about the process. Children learn more quickly and retain information longer when they are involved. Well-placed questions, role-playing, soliciting answers and getting feedback make the workshop not only enjoyable but also educational.

Parents interested in the free Done with Bullying Workshop can register by visiting Done with Bullying or call 732-583-2730. Teachers and school administrators interested in having a school assembly or class visit can call the same number.

John Arena of The Martial Arts Arena said, “I am proud of our Students because they are taking a stand to help others. Bullying is a national problem presented on the local level in every community. To have our Students be part of the solution is quite humbling. The Done with Bullying Program is an amazing opportunity to ultimately stop bullying as we know it.”

Students of The Martial Arts Arena are just like most other children, however, they are also taking some serious action to Stand Up to Bullying. Students are committed to memorize the Anti-Bullying Pledge and are participating in the Take Action and Influencers Contests to help raise awareness. They have been actively engaged in learning and using the Upstander Tactics to help other children that may be bullied.
