Siena Graduate Starts Grant Fund to Raise Money for Young Professional Women
The fundraising kicks off with “The Secrets of…Career Success” --- a workshop series taking place in Latham.
Albany, NY, October 02, 2014 --(PR.com)-- Liska Wilson graduated Siena College in May 2011 and since then, she has been on a personal mission to develop her dream career as well as help her peers to do the same. As a result of her ambitions, she founded She’s a Boss. What began as a Facebook chat group is now officially a NYS not-for-profit on a mission to raise money for their Grant Fund. Three women will be awarded with grant money from the fund in October 2015.
The fundraising kicks off this year with “The Secrets of…Career Success,” a series of workshops to be held Saturday, October 18 at the Manfred Real Estate Learning Center. “We did a similar series last year. Three different event dates that was attended by nearly 100 women in total. This year we wanted to condense the series into a one day event,” says Wilson.
Wilson’s goal is to raise enough money to award each woman with at least $1,000. “That goal,” she says, will grow every year.”

The Secrets of…Career Success will cover goal setting, career planning, and success strategies. To finish the event, attendees will participate in speed networking. Speakers and special guests are: Steve Simons (Business Performance Coach at The Leadership Edge), Shari W. Quinn (Author, Publisher, and College Instructor), Alyssa Hardy (Casting Director for Electric City Couture and Social Media Coordinator for Milady), and Jonaliza D. Misa (Communications Specialist for the NYS Senate and Founder of Girlnetic).
