J.P. Turner Employees Volunteer in Support of Homeless Pets Foundation

J.P. Turner employees spend their time volunteering at a Homeless Pets Foundation Adoption Day.

Atlanta, GA, October 08, 2014 --(PR.com)-- J.P. Turner employees volunteered their time helping The Homeless Pets Foundation host another successful adoption day for animals in need of a good home.

On Saturday, September 6, Volunteers from J.P. Turner Connects worked with The Homeless Pets Foundation to set up and coordinate an adoption event. Volunteer tasks included taking care of the dog yard, crate maintenance, walking the dogs and grooming them. There were a total of 5 dogs adopted that day, with one of the adopters being J.P. Turner’s own Rebecca Farish.

“The world we live in contains all life forms. If want our world to continue to flourish, our service must include those we share the world with,” commented program coordinator Herman Mannings III.

The Homeless Pets Foundation is an organization that saves the lives of homeless cats and dogs in Atlanta area animal shelters and promotes the benefits of pet ownership. The organization was founded in 1998 by Dr. Michael Good who saw a need and started recruiting volunteers to help him spread the word about adoptable pets that were in dire situations in overcrowded shelters. In the Atlanta area, more than 100,000 animals are destroyed each year for lack of a home. The foundation works to prevent these senseless deaths through necessary medical care, foster care and adoption services.

“Since we are an all-volunteer organization with no paid staff, our current focus is on raising money for discounted medications for homeless dogs and cats, so we can save more animals,” said Dr. Good.

The homeless Pets Foundation holds adoption events every Saturday. Visit their website to see how you can volunteer your time to ensure these animals have a safe place to call home. http://www.homelesspets.com/.
