Realtor Safety Class to Follow MLS Training on October 15

Sarasota, FL, October 10, 2014 --( In light of the recent kidnapping and murder of Realtor Beverly Carter in Arkansas, the Manatee County Crime Prevention Unit will conduct a Realtor safety class following the scheduled Multiple Listing Service (MLS) training program on Wednesday, October 15, at the Keiser University Auditorium, 6151 Lake Osprey Drive, Sarasota, Florida 34240.

Sponsored by CornerStone Title, the afternoon begins with a presentation by My Florida Regional MLS Trainer Chris Lumia titled “UNIQUE Aspects to the Matrix System," followed by a question-and-answer session. Registration and networking will begin at 1 p.m. The presentation will be held from 1:30 to 4 p.m.

The Realtor safety class will be held immediately after the presentation.

"It is important for Realtors to be aware of their surroundings and learn ways to prevent becoming potential victims of crime, even if they don't attend this seminar," said Mary Howard of CornerStone Title, whose father was a Manhattan detective who had ties to catching Son of Sam, wrote the book "Blue Domino" and helped Nicolas Pileggi write "Wise Guy," which became the movie Goodfellas.
