Delta City in New Belgrade is first international-style mall in Serbia and features world-class facilities

Belgrade, Serbia and Montenegro, November 03, 2007 --(PR.com)-- The biggest shopping mall in the region and the first international-style shopping mall in Serbia, Delta City in New Belgrade, opens to the public today.

Delta City features world-class facilities and boasts big-name anchors, including Zara, Marks & Spencer, Esprit, New Yorker, Bestseller and Sport Impuls. The mall features a Maxi supermarket, a Ster Cineplex, a bowling alley by Kolosej and a Tehnomarket store.

The exclusive leasing agent for the mall was Colliers International Serbia. In total there are more than 120 tenants, including famous names like Massimo Dutti, Bershka, Stradivarius, Pull & Bear, Mexx, Mango, Morgan, Max & Co, Intimissimi, Mothercare, Sephora, Coin Casa and Costa Coffee.

Delta City has a very large catchment area – New Belgrade is the largest residential area of Belgrade with a very high population density. It will have high visibility from one of the main traffic arteries of New Belgrade and has excellent accessibility by car and public transport from all areas of the capital.

The total size of the development is 87,000 m2, and it features abundant parking, distinctive cafes and restaurants, and a playroom for children.

Delta is the leading shopping mall developer in Serbia and the region. Currently, Delta is undertaking work on another ground-breaking mall in Belgrade, Delta Planet, that will be a regional shopping venue, and the first mall in Montenegro, Delta City Montenegro in Podgorica, which is due for opening in spring 2008.

The President of Delta, Miroslav Miskovic, speaking at the VIP opening last night, said that Delta City was built in a period of 18 months, with the involvement of 52 Serbian companies. He confirmed that Delta's plans include building shopping malls in Nis, Novi Sad, Podgorica and Banja Luka. In the following years, Delta will start opening shopping malls across the entire region of Southeastern Europe – in Bucharest, Sofia, Zagreb, Skopje and Tirana.

The Vice-President of the Serbian government, Bozidar Djelic, said that this 75 million Euros worth of investment employing 1500 people will be a big boost for the Serbian economy. He said that he expects Delta to be an "icebreaker" and a leader among Serbian companies that will soon start expanding across the entire region.

Philip Bay, Regional Director of Colliers International Southeast Europe, concluded, "I am delighted that Colliers was chosen to work on this enormous project and that we achieved 100% leasing well before the opening and brought such a striking array of international retail names to Serbia. It demonstrates that Colliers International is the leading force in retail in the region."

Colliers International Southeast Europe was recently named Property Consultant of the Year for the region for the second straight year.

Colliers International is a global affiliation of independently owned and operated companies.
