The Business Bank Raises $11,300 for Local Charity

St. Louis bank's annual fundraiser to benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters.

St. Louis, MO, October 31, 2014 --(PR.com)-- The Business Bank of St. Louis recently raised $11,300 for Big Brothers Big Sisters (BBBS) of Eastern Missouri at its annual “Bowl for Kids’ Sake” event. This is the third year that the bank, which has contributed a total of more than $30,000 to the agency, has been a corporate sponsor.

Teams consisted of the bank’s staff, board of directors, and associate board dressed in this year’s “Neon” theme. Fundraising efforts throughout the year included staff raffles, sportswear sales, and a donut day to reach their goal. The bowling event took place at Moolah Bowl located at 2821 Lindell Blvd. in St. Louis City.

“We are very proud to be a sponsor of this wonderful organization for the third straight year,” said Larry Kirby, The Business Bank of St. Louis’ president and CEO. “We enjoyed the fun night of bowling and raising money for a very worthwhile cause.”

According to BBBS, young people teamed up with a Big Brother or Big Sister during the past year were more successful than their peers in terms of discipline and attendance. Their statistics show that 91% of these students had less than five discipline referrals, and 69% had less than 10 excuses and unexcused absences during the school year.

The Business Bank of St. Louis was founded in 2002 and operates a full service banking facility from its single location at 8000 Maryland Avenue in Clayton, Mo. For more information, contact Brian Leeker at (314) 721-8003.
