River Falls, WI Food Company Owners to Compete in World Food Championships

Snappy Valley Foods, a River Falls, WI-based food manufacturer boasts 3 company owners who have all qualified for competition on the world's largest food stage, the World Food Championships in Las Vegas, NVeart in November.

River Falls, WI, October 31, 2014 --(PR.com)-- Snappy Valley Foods, a River Falls, WI-based food manufacturer announced that its three owners, Damon and Lu Holter and Dave Merten, have all qualified for competition this November at the World Food Championships in Las Vegas. The World Food Championships is the world's largest culinary competition, with winners of thousands of culinary challenges throughout the year across the globe battling head to head in multiple rounds of cooking competition over a 5 day period of time. With over $300,000 in prize money at stake, Snappy Valley's competitors are vying for top billing among the world's greatest chefs and culinary competitors.

The World Food Championships features qualifying events that must be secured for entry in to the event. Dave Merten won the River Falls Bacon Bash Baacon Cook-off this September to secure his spot in the Bacon category of the WFC. His dish, Heart Attack Potatoes, beat out other challengers at the competiton to win Dave the coveted "Golden Ticket" to compete in Vegas. As an owner of Snappy Valley Foods, Dave also owns and produces his line of salsas, Tex-mex seasonings and Margarita Mixes under his SnappyDog Foods labels.

Damon Holter was awarded his qualifying entry into the Sandwich category of the World Food Championships this October with a People's Choice Award for his Stir fry Burger from the Sandwich America Next World Sandwich Champion Recipe Contest. Also as an owner of Snappy Valley Foods, Damon also owns Croix Valley Foods, where he produces his award-winning BBQ sauces, Marinades, Dry Rubs and Bloody Mary Seasonings.

Lu Holter, also an owner of Croix Valley Foods and partner in the Snappy Valley Foods business, won her qualifying entry in to the World Food Championships Pasta category this October with her entry, Bacon and Mushroom Stuffed Manicotti. Her recipe entry was chosen by the World Food Championships to secure her spot as head cook in this amazing culinary challenge.

Damon and Lu competed in the 2013 World Food Championships. This year will be the first year for Dave to compete in this world-wide challenge.

The team at Snappy Valley Foods will head to the World Food Championships to compete in the 3 categories with all three members representing their respective categories as head cook, although the entire team will help each other out in competition. Joining Dave, Damon and Lu will be Maurine Merten, Dave's wife and partner in the SnappyDog Foods business. Together, this culinary powerhouse will compete November 12th through the 16th against hundreds of competitors all attempting to take home the top prize of $10,000 in each category and $100,000 for the one individual who will be crowned World Food Champion.
