At the University Marika is responsible for central Academic ICT, supporting teaching, learning and research. Part of Marika's work is to identify strategic directions for IT investments that enable campus to meet their distinctive needs more effectively while supporting the University's broader mission, academic programs and strategic goals. Marika promotes and leverages IT investment and expertise to fully exploit collective and campus-specific IT capabilities and add value to the organization.

Part of Marika's past experiences include the building and management of a consulting company that worked successfully with a variety of businesses addressing wide ranging needs and requirements both in technology and in delivering multimedia and e-learning services.

Marika has a well honed ability to understand the business requirements of an organization be it the private or the public sector, including the development of IT strategy that aligns with the overall business strategy and objectives. She has extensive experience in managing change and most importantly Marika understand how to focus an organization on executing today, not just on planning for tomorrow. Marika has a passion for learning and has a talent for seeing the big picture.

Marika received her Master of Science degree from McMaster University and currently makes her home in Alberta Canada.

Marika enjoys spending quality time with her family as well as hiking in the Rocky Mountains of Western Canada. She keeps up with business trends by reading many journals and books. Among her journals is the Harvard Business Review and among her favorite books are M. Buckingham and C. Coffman's First Break all the Rules and D. Pink's A Whole New Mind.
