Music Icon Patti Page Celebrates Her 80th

Patti Page celebrates her 60th anniversary as a recording artist and her 80th birthday.

Waltham, MA, November 11, 2008 --(PR.com)-- Legendary recording artist Patti Page celebrates her 80th birthday on Thursday, November 8. Born Clara Ann Fowler in Claremore, Oklahoma, Patti signed with Mercury Records in Chicago in1947. Her career includes 111 hits on the Billboard 100, with 84 on the Top 40 chart. “Tennessee Waltz”, the number one single by a female artist, sold over 10,000,000 copies.

The Arcada Theatre in St. Charles, IL, a suburb of Chicago, will pay tribute to Patti at her performance there on Sunday, November 11. Continuing her career now into its seventh decade, Patti led the way for recording artists by being the first to use vocal overdubbing, the first cross-over artist between pop and country, and the first to have a music video.

With no thoughts of retirement, Patti continues performing in theaters nationwide, she will release a new country CD with Curb Records in early 2008, and is writing her memoirs to be published later next year. Patti is recognized as the top female recording artist of the past 60 years.
