Old Colony Elderly Services Donates Caregiving Books to Libraries in 23 Towns

In honor of November as National Caregiver Month, Old Colony Elderly Services, Inc. (OCES) Family Caregiver Support Program is donating three caregiving books to each of the main libraries in towns throughout the Plymouth County area as well as in Avon, Easton and Stoughton.

Brockton, MA, November 10, 2007 --(PR.com)-- The three donated books, Dementia Caregivers Share Their Stories: A Support Group in a Book and How To Say It to Seniors: Closing the Communication Gap with Our Elders as well as Love, Honor, & Value: A Family Caregiver Speaks Out about Choices & Challenges of Caregiving will serve as guides to help strengthen caregivers’ knowledge and their ability to provide care.

According to Marilyn Lynt, Caregiver Specialist in the Family Caregiver Support Program at OCES, “One of the most effective ways to assist caregivers is to provide them with education materials.”

OCES’ Family Caregiver Support staff assists caregivers, at no charge, with support, education and community linkages.

Libraries that will receive the books are those in towns served by OCES including: Abington, Avon, Bridgewater, Brockton, Carver, Duxbury, East Bridgewater, Easton, Halifax, Hanover, Hanson, Kingston, Lakeville, Marshfield, Middleboro, Pembroke, Plymouth, Plympton, Rockland, Stoughton, Wareham, West Bridgewater and Whitman.
