The Federal Government is one of the largest employers of National Guardsmen and Reservists in the country.”

“It is with great respect for the National Guard and Reserves that I sign this Statement of Support,” Secretary Snow said. “As civil servants, I believe we should all be humbled to work alongside the men and women who are giving twice to their country – first by serving in the Federal Government and second by volunteering for the ultimate in service, the defense of our great nation and all its precious freedoms. I am proud to affix my signature to a document that makes official my heartfelt support, and deep support from the Treasury, of these valiant federal employees. ”

When asked about the “5-Star” criteria, Duehring said “By meeting the ‘5-Star’ Statement of Support criteria, the management of the Treasury Department stands proudly with its Guard and Reserve employees, who like the Minute Men before them, continue to answer their nation’s call to defend our way of life. Their personal sacrifices are essential to the strength of our nation”.

“Secretary Snow joins a cadre of his fellow Cabinet Level Secretaries, Governors, Fortune 500 companies, and thousands of America’s employers in demonstrating support for our armed forces,” added Duehring. “By signing the ‘5-Star’ Statement of Support, Secretary Snow is sending a clear message to the employees of the Treasury Department that while they are serving their country they do not have to worry about their civilian jobs.”
