The Mash House Restaurant & Brewery Participates in the Great American Beer Festival

Fayetteville, NC, November 09, 2007 --(PR.com)-- Dean Ogan, owner of Rocky Top Hospitality, has announced that The Mash House Restaurant & Brewery in Fayetteville, participated in the Brewers Association’s Great American Beer Festival (GABF) in Denver, from Oct. 11-13. The Mash House’s brewmaster, Zach Hart, entered his India Pale Ale (IPA) and Belgian Tripel to be judged by over 100 professional beer tasters among over 2,800 other beers from more than 470 domestic breweries in one of the world’s largest and most prestigious tasting competitions. Gold, silver and bronze medals were awarded in 75 beer-style categories at an awards ceremony on Oct. 13.

The GABF attracts over 41,000 beer connoisseurs from around the world to the Colorado Convention Center to taste one-ounce beer samples from the festival’s breweries. The brewery booths, most of which are staffed by the brewers themselves, are arranged on the festival floor by regions of the country in order to give visitors a walking tour of the nation’s beers. In addition to the tasting competition, the GABF features food and beer pairing seminars with demonstrations on how to cook with beer and how to pair different beer styles with various dishes.

The Mash House, located at 4150 Sycamore Dairy Road in Fayetteville, is a local favorite that features an on-site brewery, a Sunday brunch and hearty fare such as steaks, chops and seafood. In addition to handcrafted beer, The Mash House offers a variety of vodka brews and wines.

“The Mash House is honored to have had two of its brews submitted for judging at the Great American Beer Festival,” said Ogan. “The GABF is the pinnacle of tasting competitions, and we are pleased to have been represented by Zach’s India Pale Ale (IPA) and Belgian Tripel.”
