Spin to Win Rodeo Magazine Announces the 2014 Spinnies Winners

Fans of Team Roping voted for their favorites and one lucky voter won a prize of their own.

Boulder, CO, January 07, 2015 --(PR.com)-- 2014 was a roller coaster year in the sport of team roping, with big names and big moments every fan wants to remember. For the second year in a row, Spin to Win Rodeo magazine gave readers the chance to pick the best header, heeler, horses and moments in team roping, and even win a prize for themselves.

After narrowing the field down to 20 of the top headers, heelers, head horses and heel horses, plus 10 of the top runs of the year, Spin to Rodeo readers picked their favorites. Coleman Proctor was named header of the year, and his partner Jake Long as heeler of the year. The horse of the year awards went to Charly Crawford’s Patron and Paul Eaves’ Cadilac for head and heel horse, respectively. And the coveted Run of the Year went to Kaleb Driggers and Patrick Smith who clinched their win at The American with a 4.47 run.

Not only were the athletes up for awards, but the fans who voted were also entered to win a prize package consisting of a Las Vegas Getaway and a Gold Coast Vest from Boyd Gaming Corporation, plus a pair of Soft-Ride Equine Comfort Boots. That lucky winner was Kylie Bedene.

“I learned so much from Patron,” said Crawford of his great horse Patron, who died of complications to colic this August. “This buckle means so much to remember him, and it will go in a frame with his halter and his tail."

The winning athletes and horses were presented with custom-made trophy buckles and the run of the year winners were awarded with custom bronc halters.
