The Colony, TX, January 09, 2015 --(PR.com
)-- Lone Star Hot Yoga celebrated its one year anniversary on January 6, 2015. Carolyn Cummins had a vision of a yoga studio designed to foster personal growth and self discovery and a passion for Bikram yoga, a form of hot yoga. That vision and passion were the launching pad and building blocks for Lone Star Hot Yoga.
One year ago Lone Star Hot Yoga opened its doors to new and eager faces wanting to try this thing called “Bikram yoga.” A few were familiar with it but most only knew of “hot yoga” or yoga in general. Bikram yoga is a form of hot yoga where the room is hot and humid and the same sequence of postures is done each 90 minute class. The heat and humidity help to loosen up the body (muscles) to aid in safer stretching. The sequence consistency helps students to focus less on the posture mechanics and more on their mind and body.
Bikram yoga is a beginner therapeutic yoga. Each posture is designed to produce specific medical benefits in the body. Many people have found relief from excess stress and tension, backaches, knee pain, arthritis, etc. Weight loss, muscle toning and increased flexibility ( range of motion) also are benefits of Bikram yoga.
“We have students from all over the Northern part of the Metroplex coming to the studio: The Colony, Lewisville, Carrollton, Little Elm, Frisco, Plano, McKinney, Allen, and Prosper. It is wonderful to see so many people excited and motivated to improve their health through yoga,” said Carolyn Cummins, owner of Lone Star Hot Yoga. “The best moments of my day are when a student makes a breakthrough and smiles in the mirror. I am honored to be a part of those moments.”
Lone Star Hot Yoga also teaches the MELT Method; a myofascial release technique that once learned can be done at home in just a few minutes. These techniques can release tension and chronic pain throughout the body.
