Support Dogs Lives Up to the Challenge

St. Louis agency raises enough money to receive Oklahoma foundation's support.

St. Louis, MO, January 10, 2015 --(PR.com)-- Because they met the challenge posed by an Oklahoma foundation, Support Dogs, Inc. (SDI) recently received a generous $435,000 grant that will be used to finish the construction of its new headquarters.

Support Dogs, which applied for a challenge grant from The Mabee Foundation in Tulsa, Okla., was required to meet a variety of criteria that included raising $2.9 million plus starting construction of its more than 21,000-square-foot headquarters at 10955 Linpage Place. The agency is currently located at 11645 Lilburn Park Rd. and is scheduled to move to its new location in the fall of 2015. JEMA is the project’s architect and Kozeny Wagner, Inc. is the construction company.

The Mabee Foundation was formed in 1948 by husband and wife native Missourians to fund various charitable organizations. The foundation is well known for serving as the finishing funders for building projects.

“We at Support Dogs are thrilled to have the Mabee Foundation participate with us on our building project,” said Support Dogs board president Angie Fink. “Their generosity makes it possible for us to achieve our dream of helping many more worthy people through these amazing dogs.”
