Kiel North America Presents Lightweight Innovations in Motor Coach Seating at UMA Expo in New Orleans

U.S. seating manufacturer exhibits spacious, fuel-efficient seat models with ergonomic European design at the United Motorcoach Association 2015 showcase in New Orleans.

Elkhart, IN, January 19, 2015 --(PR.com)-- KIEL North America, a trendsetting seat provider to transit systems around the world, will be exhibiting its innovative product portfolio of lightweight, German-engineered coach seating solutions at the United Motorcoach Association Expo 2015 in New Orleans. From January 18-22, visitors of the association’s annual trade show at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center will have the opportunity to learn more about the company’s fuel saving, ergonomically correct coach seat models at the Kiel booth # 907.

The German based Kiel Group has been one of Europe’s leading transport seating manufacturers since 1945 and has pioneered innovative technologies that produce some of the safest and most reliable solutions available on the market. In 2009, the Kiel Group established a US-subsidiary in Elkhart, Indiana, and has been partnering with prominent manufacturers and private agencies across North America to deliver superior comfort for long distance travelers with highest safety standards.

At the UMA Expo, Kiel will present an overview of its newest, weight-optimized coach models that are FMVSS 210-compliant for three-point seat belts as well as wheelchair seating compliant according to ADA-requirements. Recent projects with the Massachusetts Department of Transportation, for example, have shown that the lightweight coach seats can reduce the fuel consumption of the vehicle by as much as four percent, which translates into drastically lower maintenance costs for operators as well as reduced CO2-emissions.

Kiel’s advanced engineering know-how has developed streamlined, ergonomically correct seat backs to provide maximum hip to knee space for increased leg room. Other signature Kiel amenities include USB charging options, magazine nets, sturdy arm and foot rests that adjust smoothly and quietly, so travelers can feel comfortable and relaxed from the very first minute as well as many hours into their journey. Newly designed slider models with easy fitment capabilities, including a foot-operated final lock, and flip-up versions with sturdy stainless steel pedestals are also on display at UMA.

Thomas Schwank, General Manager of Kiel North America, comments, that “the motor coach segment is rapidly transforming. Safety standards and demands for traveler comfort in seating solutions are continually increasing. We are excited to share our passion for trailblazing engineering, exciting styling, and long-lasting comfort with visitors and partners at this year’s UMA Expo.”
