New Metal Detector for Wood Industry Reduces Rejection of Valuable Logs

Cassel Messtechnik GmbH has developed a new metal detector for the wood industry: Metal Shark OCTA. It reduces the rejection of valuable logs that do not contain metal pieces posing a potential danger to the saw.

Dransfeld, Germany, November 14, 2007 --(PR.com)-- Conventional metal detectors find very small nails on the outside of logs. These do not pose a potential danger to the saw. However, big metal parts inside the log are not detected. The new Cassel metal detector detects outside and inside the log the same metal objects. Therefore, logs not posing a potential danger to the saw are not rejected. The Metal Shark OCTA can find a metric nut M6-M8.

The standard size of the Metal Shark OCTA is 1800x1800. If needed, it can be supplied in other sizes as well. In addition the following options are available: Booster type SPD to increase detection performance, a Xenon warning flash lamp, an acoustic alarm.

The metal detector comes with a control unit with the newest digital technology. It has a digital noise filter, digital balancing, digital temperature drift control and performs constant automatic checks.
