Motorola Foundation Enables Launch of Easy Way to Volunteer at 1-800-Volunteer
Newly updated easy-to-use 1-800-Volunteer phone system provides information on how to help during and after disasters, and allows potential volunteers to find and connect to locally-based Volunteer Centers that help connect volunteers to volunteer opportunities in their community.
Washington, DC, November 14, 2007 --(PR.com)-- In partnership with the Motorola Foundation, Points of Light & Hands On Network has redesigned its national, toll-free voice response system for volunteers, 1-800-Volunteer (1-800-865-8683). Launching November 12, 2007 the new system connects potential volunteers to local organizations and more efficiently enable the mobilization and management of volunteers during large-scale disasters.
