Book Launch Party for "Becka and the Big Bubble" Draws Over 500 People
Barnes & Noble and authors, Gretchen Schomer Wendel and Adam Schomer, teamed up for the much anticipated book launch party at La Costa Resort & Spa in Carlsbad, California for the award winning series of books “Becka and the Big Bubble”. The event was Thursday, November 8th. Over 500 people attended.
San Diego, CA, November 14, 2007 --(PR.com)-- Barnes & Noble and authors, Gretchen Schomer Wendel and Adam Schomer, teamed up for the much anticipated book launch party at La Costa Resort & Spa in Carlsbad, California for the award winning series of books “Becka and the Big Bubble”. The event was Thursday, November 8th. Over 500 people attended.
James Bond, the Mayor of Encinitas, who was in attendance remarked “What a fantastic celebration for an unbelievable series of children’s books. I have never seen so many children at La Costa Resort & Spa.”
“It was the best off site event that I have ever been a part of,” said Alicia Pfingst, Community Relations Manager for Barnes & Noble. Over 320 sold books in less then 2 hours. 100 “Becka goes to North Pole” sold out in 30 minutes.
Guests were entertained by an assortment of activities included being greeted by “Becka”, put inside a large bubbles by the Bubble Lady, and complimentary drinks and food. A ribbon was cut to signify the launch of the Becka series of children’s books.
Four books in the series were released: “Becka and the Big Bubble, Becka Goes to India, Becka goes to San Francisco, Becka goes to the North Pole and the original Becka and the Big Bubble - All Around Town.”
All four books are now available for purchase (SRP: $11.99) at Barnes & Noble and Borders Books and customers can order the books online through Wal-Mart, Target and Amazon.
The books: An acclaimed children’s book collection, "Becka and the Big Bubble" is about a confident girl who floats on magic bubbles to visit new and interesting places to experience different cities and cultures while learning life lessons.
About The Authors: "Becka and the Big Bubble" books are written by brother and sister team Adam Schomer and Gretchen Schomer Wendel. A former Ivy-league soccer player at Cornell, Adam Schomer lives in Los Angeles and is both a writer and an actor. Gretchen Schomer Wendel is a former television reporter and producer.
