Castle Rock, CO, January 30, 2015 --(PR.com)-- Scholarships for high school seniors with public affairs majors are funded through Zonta Douglas County’s annual Trivia Fundraiser. The recipient of Zonta’s 2014 scholarship was Thunder Ridge High School graduate Kianna Nguyen, who is now a freshman at University of Colorado (CU) in Boulder.

In addition to a full class load her first semester, Nguyen was active in Engineers without Borders, the Rwanda team, and GlobeMed, an organization that partners with a healthcare providers in Nepal. This summer she is also looking into a program in Brazil, through CU, where she would develop her own independent research project and go down there to conduct it.

“It’s very rewarding to be able to help outstanding students like Kianna through our scholarship program,” says Rhonda Bolich-Lampo, president of Zonta Douglas County.
