Tampa, FL, February 23, 2015 --(PR.com
)-- Online timeshare resale advertiser BuyaTimeshare.com has been approved for membership into the Mexico timeshare association AMDETUR, becoming the first resale company to have been accepted into the organization.
AMDETUR (which stands for Asociación Mexicana de Desarrolladores Turísticos) is otherwise known as the Mexican Resort Development Association and is the national association for the timeshare and fractional ownership industry in Mexico. Created in 1987, AMDETUR groups investors, resort developers, marketers, managers, operators, real estate companies, law practices and consultancy firms. Currently, AMDETUR represents 90% of the tourism development businesses in Mexico.
“Membership into AMDETUR is a great honor and I am very thankful to the leadership of AMDETUR for allowing us to become a member,” said Wesley Kogelman, President and CEO, BuyaTimeshare.com. “We understand the privilege of being the first resale company to become a member and we hope to bring a technology perspective that can help grow the industry in Mexico.”
“We are very pleased to welcome BuyaTimeshare.com as a member of our organization and look forward to working with them to assist with the resale issues we are facing in Mexico,” said Gonzalo Maqueda, Executive President, AMDETUR. “Resales is a topic which has always generated interest whether in Mexico, the U.S., Canada or elsewhere in the world, and we see the need to work with legitimate companies to try and improve this sector of the business.”
With the AMDETUR announcement, BuyaTimeshare.com becomes the only timeshare resale company in the world to have been accepted into each of the three national timeshare associations of North America, having previously been accepted into the Canadian Resort Development Association and the American Resort Development Association.
The scrutiny to abide under the ethics codes of these organizations shows the commitment by the company to transparency and credible business practices - principles needed by more operators in the timeshare resale space according to Kogelman.
“We understand the need for resale companies to step up and operate under a magnifying glass because of the abuses in this sector. This is why we are seeing legislation in the States mandating steps such as the requirement for written contracts, which we implemented years before it became law.
“Consumers need to see the legitimate companies stepping up so they can have confidence in the process. This benefits the entire industry,” added Kogelman.
Endorsed by the two most prominent independent timeshare owners groups in the world, the National Timeshare Owners Association and UK-based TATOC, the Timeshare Association, BuyaTimeshare.com is one of only a few companies in the world which show the timeshares sold on its website. Sold timeshares can be seen on the company homepage and offers can also be seen on each resort profile, giving owners an indication of what buyers and renters are willing to pay.
