Morristown, NJ, March 14, 2015 --(PR.com
)-- This year, for its annual fundraiser for ALS research, Shade Tree Garage will hold a “Name Your Own Price Oil Change” event on Saturday, April 18th from 8:00am to 1:00pm at Shade Tree Garage’s auto repair shop located at 171 Washington Street in Morristown, NJ. One-hundred percent of the proceeds from the event will go to the Robert Packard Center for ALS Research.
The event is being held in memory of Gary O’Connor, the brother to Shade Tree Garage’s owner, John O’Connor. Gary passed away from ALS on March 15, 2012. “Before being diagnosed with ALS, my brother was very active and vibrant. After his diagnosis, the entire family rallied around him to provide support, much of it in the way of raising funds for ALS research,” states John O’Connor. As a result of the family’s efforts, they were able to raise enough money to fund a clinical trial.
Shade Tree Garage will be donating the oil and filters to be used along with the technicians. As participants arrive, they will be asked to name the price for their oil change, 100% of which will be donated to the Robert Packard Center for ALS Research. Though an appointment is not necessary to participate, it is recommended.
