Wichita, KS, March 14, 2015 --(PR.com
)-- Tennis star Victoria Azarenka plays in competitive matches often. Alison Brie plays a hard-working student on the TV comedy Community. And both women raise their hair game when the moment calls for it - well enough that they emerged from a very competitive pack to each win two Crown Awards in voting at the celebrity hair website Super-Hair.Net.
After weeks of online voting, the Crown Award winners for 2014 were named in a live chat Thursday night. Azarenka was voted Best Long Hair of the year for the third year in a row, and also was named Best Blonde. Brie won the award for Best Hairstyle on Television, and tied for Best Brunette with New Girl star Zooey Deschanel.
"Azarenka now has won nine Crowns in three years," said the overseer of Super-Hair.Net. "That makes her the second-biggest winner in our history, behind Bonnie Bernstein. But there's always room for newcomers, and Brie's great hair was suggested to us during our open nomination season."
Azarenka could have pushed her Crown total to 10, but she was upset for Best Hairstyle in Athletics by Swedish arm-wrestling champion and WWE newcomer Sarah Backman.
For only the second time, the Crown Awards list includes a tie - and like 2010, there are two deadlocks. Along with the Best Brunette contest, the race for Best Short Hair ended with a tie between former daytime drama actress Farah Fath and Suburgatory star Jane Levy.
Other Crown Award winners include singer Taylor Swift for Best Bangs, actress Rebecca Gayheart for Best Curls and West Virginia lawmaker Saira Blair for Best Hairstyle in Government/Politics. Blair wins a Crown at age 18, the same age as when she was elected to the state House of Delegates.
The full list of winners with pictures of their styles are posted in the Crown Awards area of Super-Hair.Net. Visitors also can review winners from 14 prior years.
Super-Hair.Net has honored the top celebrity hairstyles of today and modern times since 2000, with a mix of information and interactive competitions. Over the years, the site has received about 1.5 million visitors.
