PBTF Salutes Honda for 25th Year of Support

Asheville, NC, March 20, 2015 --(PR.com)-- The Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation is grateful to American Honda for 25 years of support in the fight against childhood brain tumors.

When the company’s Honda Riders Club of America became the presenting sponsor of the PBTF’s Ride for Kids program in 1991, the event was able to expand nationwide to help children battling one of the deadliest forms of childhood cancer.

American Honda’s support helped the PBTF grow from a small local organization raising a few thousand dollars a year to the world’s largest nonprofit funder of childhood brain tumor research.

"For the last 25 years Honda has been very fortunate to be involved with the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation. In partnership with the foundation and the thousands of volunteers across the country, we have brought together motorcycle riders of all types, united in a common cause to help children with brain tumors,” said Robert Gurga, Vice President of American Honda’s Motorcycle Division. "Ride for Kids is part of the Honda family, and we will continue to work together towards our shared dream of finding a cure for the kids.”

“Honda’s support has meant the world to these kids, who are our Stars,” said Steve Reynolds, national director of Ride for Kids. “It has encouraged countless motorcyclists and members of the motorcycle industry to join our mission, and has also helped the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation become a leader in the search for a cure for this disease.”

As Honda celebrates its 25th season as presenting sponsor of Ride for Kids, the company is doing more than ever to help. In addition to providing financial support and publicity, Honda also supplies new motorcycles for the grand prize drawing at each Ride for Kids event and the annual Ride for Kids/Cycle World project bike.

Ride for Kids motorcycle fundraising events lift spirits, give hope and provide a supportive environment for children with brain tumors. To find an event near you, visit www.rideforkids.org.
