New York Wine Events to Present Its Inaugural NYC Spring Wine Festival at the Broad Street Ballroom in Downtown Manhattan, Saturday, May 9, 2015

New York, NY, April 02, 2015 --(PR.com)-- New York Wine Events will host its inaugural NYC Spring Wine Festival: A Celebration of Wine Downtown at the Broad Street Ballroom in lower Manhattan on Saturday, May 9, 2015. Festival attendees can choose from two sessions, Afternoon: 3-6pm or Evening: 8-11pm. Learn more at NewYorkWineEvents.com .

The inaugural NYC Spring tasting will feature 200+ wines curated by Vintry Fine Wines, light accompaniments, plus artisan food sampling tables. Guests will also enjoy live contemporary jazz performances during each session from acclaimed saxophonist Art Sherrod, Jr. and his band. The NYC spring tasting is New York Wine Events’ latest addition to their multiple annual seasonal events in Manhattan, Brooklyn, and New Jersey.

Tasting tables located throughout the venue will offer a wide array of quality wines from around the globe including lush reds, crisp whites, intriguing grape blends, and more from Old World and New World regions–all suited to spring and summer sipping.

Guests will enjoy a selection of light fare to accompany the wine including: fresh and aged imported and New York State farmstead cheeses served with seasonal fruit, crackers, sliced baguettes and flatbreads; crudités with a fresh assortment of seasonal vegetables with parmesan chive and fresh basil dips; and selection of charcuterie with artisanal breads. Hors d’oeuvres include Lemon Orrechiette Pasta with Sugar Snaps, Wild Mushrooms & Shaved Parmesan, Barbecued Pulled Pork with Pickled Onions on a Parker House Bun, Bruschetta with Fresh Ricotta and Roasted Red & Yellow Tomatoes, and Flatbread with Smoked Mozzarella & Asparagus. Select artisan food companies will be sampling an array of offerings including chocolates, baked goods, dipping oils, and more, and will also be selling full sized items to enjoy at home.

In addition to a general admission ticket for the main tasting, the spring event features a VIP level ticket option (limited to 40 people per session) that includes the main tasting plus admission to a private VIP wine tasting area featuring 12 high-end wines and a premium selection of passed hors d'oeuvres. VIP wines include Dom Perignon, Ornellaia, Chateau Pichon Lalande, Clos de Papes, Chateau Gruaud-Larose, Joseph Phelps, and other superior selections. (Note: Wines may change slightly based upon availability.)

VIP suite hors d’oeuvres will include Salmon Tartar with Wasabi Caviar, Filet Mignon with Stilton on Garlic Crostini, among other exclusive creations. “We’re excited to return to the Broad Street Ballroom for our inaugural spring wine event,” notes S.W. Kimball, Founder, New York Wine Events. “The extensive wine selection curated by Vintry Fine Wines, tasty light fare and artisan food samples, our luxe VIP suite option, great live jazz, and the superb historic setting will provide our guests with a stellar wine, food, and music experience,” he adds.

Located in the heart of Wall Street, the Broad Street Ballroom was built in the late 1920s as the Headquarters of the Lee-Higginson Bank. Today, the spacious site is recognized today as "the most impressible building on Broad Street” and is one of the premier event spaces in New York City.

Musical guest, saxman Art Sherrod, Jr. has performed, opened or co-headlined shows with notable artists including Chuck Loeb, Marion Meadows, Natalie Cole, Boney James, Noel Webb, Najee, Michael Henderson, Cuba Gooding & the Main Ingredient, and others. Art has performed at many jazz festivals, including the Beantown Jazz Festival, the Volvo Jazz Festival, and was one of only five Americans to perform in the Brazilian-American Jazz Festival in Rio de Janeiro.

Event sponsors to date include Keurig, Barefoot Wine & Bubbly, Brotherhood--America’s Oldest Winery, The Luscious Little Dessert Company, The Olive Table, and Traci Lynn Fashion Jewelry. More sponsors will be announced shortly.
