Erie 2 BOCES Announces New New York State Teachers’ Retirement System Video Conferencing Center

LoGuidice Educational Center in Fredonia, NY to house latest facility

Fredonia, NY, April 17, 2015 --(PR.com)-- Erie 2-Chautauqua-Cattaraugus BOCES is pleased to announce that the LoGuidice Educational Center in Fredonia, NY, has been named a certified video conferencing location by the New York State Teachers’ Retirement System (NYSTRS). Using the LoGuidice Center’s state-of-the-art Video Conferencing Classroom, teachers can schedule a video consultation and meet with a retirement system representative right in Fredonia.

Until recently, teachers and teaching assistants wanting to participate in a video consultation with a NYSTRS representative were required to drive to video conferencing locations in Buffalo, NY or Jamestown, NY. This new facility offers a convenient option for instructors living and working between the existing sites.

“We are pleased to provide this service to the teachers of Western New York,” said Michael Bayba, distance learning specialist for Erie 2-Chautauqua-Cattaraugus BOCES. “Our centralized location in Fredonia is an ideal site for the many school districts situated between Jamestown and Buffalo.”

Active members may schedule a retirement system consultation at the LoGuidice Center by visiting NYSTRS.org and creating an account (a TRS EmplID membership number is required to get started).

By following a clearly identified link to the My Tools page, clicking on Schedule Appointments, and then choosing Book Consultation, users can select the WNY region from the map and find Fredonia as the newest available site. Members also have the option of booking a consultation by calling NYSTRS at (800) 348-7298.

“Recently, there has been an increase in the amount of teachers using this service at both the Jamestown and Buffalo locations,” added Bayba. “With this service now offered at the LoGuidice Center, instructors can take advantage of the system without having to travel greater distances. We look forward to serving our teachers from across the region.”
