Mother's Day is coming! Special tour prices & promotions now available. Flights will sell out. Book yours now!

Las Vegas, NV, April 29, 2015 --(PR.com)-- In anticipation of Mother's Day, Grand Canyon Helicopter Tours announces that it's offering a number of discounts on its finest helicopter tours from Las Vegas and South Rim.

From Las Vegas, holiday travelers can opt for a fly over tour that goes over Lake Mead, Hoover Dam, the Colorado River, and the Canyon before turning back for Vegas. "At this price," said company owner Keith Kravitz, "it's a complete bargain."

The other Vegas flight that's perfect for the occasion is the one that lands at the bottom for a Champagne picnic. "This is the #1 favorite for Vegas travelers," noted Kravitz. "It gets even more extraordinary if upgraded to include a Colorado River boat ride and VIP Skywalk tickets."

Skywalk

Located on the edge of the West Rim, the Skywalk is a glass bridge wherein travelers can walk past the rim and stand some 4,000 feet over the bottom. "The Skywalk is a once-in-a-lifetime experience," said Kravitz. "It's perfect for thrill-seekers and is packed with great views."

The South Rim, which is located in Tusayan, Arizona, just outside the gates of the National Park, is where travelers can pick from 30-minute and 50-minute helicopter rides. "There are no landing tours at this rim as they are banned by the National Park Service," said Kravitz.

The most popular one for Mother's Day is the 50-minute flight, which covers the South Rim, East Rim and North Rim. "The National Park encompasses some 1 million acres," noted Kravitz. "Travelers lucky enough to do this flight will have seen nearly 75 percent of this immense wilderness area."

There are two types of helicopter tours: Basic and deluxe. In Vegas, basic flights take off from Boulder City, whereas deluxe tours leave from The Strip. All South Rim flights leave from Grand Canyon National Park Airport.

Vegas deluxe flights come with complimentary limousine service to and from a guest's hotel on The Strip, while basic trips use a shuttle van. Further, deluxe flights include an extended flight over The Strip upon return from the Canyon.

Best Helicopter

But what really separates deluxe from basic is the helicopter. All deluxe flights utilize the EcoStar 130, which is by far the most superior sightseeing helicopter flying the sky today. The EC 130 comes with a 180-degree wraparound windshield and seats that are situated stadium-style.

Mother's Day is expected to be one of the busiest times of the year. As such, it's strongly recommended that travelers book their flight at least two weeks in advance. "Actually, if a traveler wants to pick from the best flight times at the lowest price, reservations should be done right after the hotel booking," noted Kravitz.

To take advantage of the holiday's promotional pricing, travelers should book their flight on line. This is because prices here can be up to 35 percent cheaper than retail. "Tour operators are rewarding travelers who self-serve with major discounts," noted Kravitz. "The only caveat is to make sure to complete the transaction online in order to qualify for the Internet rate."
