Utilities Firm Acquires Heavy Metal

Bolton, United Kingdom, June 04, 2015 --(PR.com)-- Investment in transport and logistics sees an 18-ton Leyland DAF lorry join the Trojan Utilities fleet as the smart meter installation company gains its HGV operator license.

The vehicle has joined the team to transport larger quantities of stock replenishments for the company’s smart meter engineers based in Scotland and Yorkshire, returning the meter assets removed from properties to the warehouse in Bolton for processing.

Gareth Openshaw, Managing Director of Trojan Utilities says: “We’re very happy to have increased our fleet to include a heavy goods vehicle. This investment means we carry out fewer re-supply runs to Scotland and Yorkshire thus saving the company money. It’s also a great advertisement for our company which is constantly reinforcing our brand and standing within the utilities sector.”

Trojan Utilities is the fastest growing Smart Meter installation and maintenance company in the UK. With an infrastructure now established for national operations the company is supporting Government legislation to lower the carbon footprint of the UK by replacing the metering system currently in place with that of smart metering – to date they are currently installing 2,500 smart meters per week.
