Menasha Corporation Announces Acquisition of Canada-Based Portable Packaging Systems

Acquisition Further Expands Menasha Packaging Company’s Operations in Canada, Enhances Integrated Merchandising Solutions

Neenah, WI, June 01, 2015 --(PR.com)-- Menasha Corporation announces that it has acquired the assets of Portable Packaging Systems, Inc. of Mississauga, Ontario. The family-owned business will operate as part of Menasha Packaging Canada L.P., a subsidiary of Menasha Corporation; terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Like Menasha Packaging, Portable Packaging designs promotional packaging and displays for retailers and consumer packaged goods (CPG) companies, and provides material sourcing, assembly, repacking, fulfillment and distribution services. Both companies also focus on the food, household and personal care markets.

“Acquiring an additional company in Canada that is well-aligned with our values and business model provides Menasha Packaging with additional capabilities and resources to meet the growing needs of CPG customers in North America,” said Jim Kotek, president and CEO of Menasha Corporation.

“Portable Packaging’s structural and graphic design expertise, along with its integrated merchandising supply chain model, complement Menasha Packaging’s platform and strengthens our integrated materials and services business model in Canada,” said Mike Waite, president of Menasha Packaging Company. “This is a very exciting time for our company and employees, and I look forward to the many opportunities this partnership and expansion will provide to new and current customers in Canada.”

Founded in 1991, Portable Packaging employs more than 100 full-time employees and an average of 300 temporary workers per day at its Mississauga facility and at three customer-dedicated distribution centers in the greater Toronto area and one in Montreal.

Portable Packaging is the second Canadian acquisition for Menasha Corporation this year. In January, the company acquired PearceWellwood of Brampton, Ontario.
