E-Cycling Results: Over 20,000 Pounds Recycled

San Marcos, TX, June 10, 2015 --(PR.com)-- In April, the San Marcos community shed serious pounds at RecycleNow, an electronics recycling event hosted by Texas State University and R3 Recycling.

During the event, Marcos Garza, the CEO of R3 Recycling estimated over 7,000 pounds of electronic waste was brought to the event by the community. After a month of sorting and calculating, the final figures are accounted for.

Electronics Recycled (in Pounds)
CRT & TVs: 11,538
Desktops: 3,113
Laptops: 520
Misc. Electronics: 5,457
Total: 20,628

The figures shocked the company, and they are proud to have helped the community rid themselves of over 20,000 pounds of electronic waste. They are happy that this waste will now be recycled responsibly instead of winding up in a landfill somewhere—which is the fate of many electronics that are tossed out.
