Three Law Students Gain "On-the-Job Training" This Summer at Henderson Franklin

Fort Myers, FL, June 10, 2015 --(PR.com)-- Henderson, Franklin, Starnes & Holt, P.A., is pleased to welcome three law students, Matthew Redavid, Meredith McAvoy and Adam Itzkowitz. They will supplement their law school experience by working as clerks at the firm during the summer.

As part of Henderson Franklin's Summer Associate Program, these law students will have an opportunity to be exposed to a broad range of practice areas. Summer associates attend hearings, trials, depositions, mediations, arbitrations and meetings with clients, amongst other activities. Additionally, they perform research, assist in the drafting of pleadings, discovery and other documents, and analyze various legal issues that arise in the course of the matters handled by the firm and its attorneys. Each summer associate is paired with a Henderson Franklin attorney mentor who assists the summer associate with the transition from law student to lawyer.

Redavid is Fort Myers native, graduating from South Fort Myers High School in 2009. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Pittsburgh, where he co-founded the Elimination of Prejudice Club, served as the risk manager of Pi Lambda Phi, and was a member of the Philosophy Club. Redavid will be entering his final year of law school at Georgetown, where he serves as an articles editor for the Georgetown Journal of Legal Ethics.

McAvoy is a Naples native and graduated from Barron Collier High School in 2007. She is currently attending law school at the University of Florida, where she also received her undergraduate degree in 2011. McAvoy is a member and general editor of the Journal of Law and Public Policy.

Itzkowitz grew up on Long Island, New York before relocating to Florida, where he is attending Stetson University College of Law. He received his undergraduate degree from Dowling College, where he received the School of Business' marketing scholarship for outstanding academic achievement. While at law school, Itzkowitz served as a judicial intern with the Honorable Amy Williams of the Sixth Circuit, in the Family Law division in St. Petersburg, Florida, as well as for the Honorable Thane Covert of the Sixth Circuit, in the Criminal Justice Center in Clearwater, Florida.
