Two Louisville Physicians Selected for Clinical Research Project Are Seeking Female Study Participants for Non Surgical Vaginal Rejuvenation Study

Julene B Samuels, MD, FACS and Lori Warren, MD, FACOG are seeking 40 patients for a clinical trial treating post-monopausal female patients interested in restoring vaginal health and intimacy. The patients will receive at no cost, three 10 minute CO2RE laser treatments to improve vaginal atrophy.

Louisville, KY, June 11, 2015 --(PR.com)-- Julene B. Samuels, MD, FACS and Lori Warren, MD, FACOG have been selected by Syneron-Candela® to conduct a study looking at the efficacy of treating post-menopausal female patients who have symptoms of atrophic vaginitis (dryness, itching, burning, vaginal tightness or looseness, pain with intercourse, or lack of sexual desire) with the versatile CO2RE fractional CO2 laser. The cutting edge use of the fractional laser promotes a natural regeneration process similar to laser treatments performed on delicate facial tissue. Dr. Julene Samuels, a world renowned cosmetic surgeon, has worked with noninvasive technology for over five years. “This type of laser (fractional CO2) has been shown to restore vaginal health and cause immediate improvement in symptoms of vaginal atrophy, poor lubrication and improvement in sexual desire and function with as few as 3 treatments. CO2RE laser vaginal treatments will be performed in my office, do not require any anesthesia, numbing or recovery and take less than 10 minutes each to perform.”

The study is free to participants, and will include reimbursement of $200 at the conclusion of the study. Interested patients can contact Dr. Samuels at 502-897-9411 or Dr. Warren at 502-891-8793 to discuss their candidacy with major criteria including being healthy and age 50 or older, sexually active at least once a month, absence of menstruation for at least the last 12 months, have some of the mentioned symptoms, not have been on oral or topical hormonal therapy in the last 6 month, not have had previous pelvic reconstructive surgery or active cancer in the past 5 years.

In addition, representatives from Syneron-Candela®, and Lori Warren, MD will be available at Dr. Samuels’ office on June 22nd from 4:00-7:00 pm to answer questions about the clinical study.

Dr. Julene Samuels, a world renowned cosmetic surgeon, introduced the CO2RE laser as well as several additional innovative procedures to the Louisville market. She has shared her experience nationally and internationally. “We are very excited about the options we can provide our patients. We have had tremendous results with the CO2RE laser treating the face, neck and chest areas and can now offer the same type of healthy rejuvenation of vaginal tissue.”
