Building Healthcare Middle East Explores Patient-Centric Approach to Facility Design and Planning

Patient care remains a key component in the effective delivery of healthcare services in the region.

Dubai, United Arab Emirates, June 18, 2015 --(PR.com)-- Patient care is one of the key themes at the 7th Building Healthcare Middle East Exhibition & Conference that was inaugurated by H.E. Humaid Mohammed Obaid Al Qattami, Chairman of the Board of Dubai Health Authority this morning at the Dubai International Convention & Exhibition Centre. The event explores the concept of aligning the delivery of their healthcare services and skills in the Middle East to sustain and improve the delivery of healthcare for the benefit of the patients.

“Patient care remains key component in the effective delivery of healthcare services in the region. Designing, planning and managing a healthcare facility with the patient in mind is a key driver for any healthcare provider. A patient-centric approach to facility design and planning will positively impact on operational efficiency and financial performance resulting in a sustainable and cost effective care continuum,” says Simon Page, Managing Director, Informa Life Sciences Exhibitions, organisers of Building Healthcare Middle East.

During the Architect’s Congress this morning, Mr Mounir Marhaba, President and Managing Partner of Executive Consulting & Knowledge Brokering Services International (ECKBS Int.) in Saudi Arabia, highlighted the importance of patient care in managing change in healthcare.

“In the Middle East, we still have a widespread lack of management maturity, accountability and the corporate culture of honest collaboration amongst decision makers. Healthcare managers at the services delivery points are the missing link in any healthcare change management and, therefore, are central to the aligning of the delivery of healthcare services and to sustain and improve multiple advances in the delivery of healthcare for the benefit of the patients,” says Mr Marhaba.

The Building Healthcare Middle East exhibition plays hosts to more than 150 exhibiting companies, many of whom demonstrated their patient care solutions to the Middle East audience for the first time. US-based Herman Miller showcased three of key products for healthcare environments; Compass, their key clinical casework product, Palisade, a new furniture range designed by Nemschoff to support friends and family in the healing process, and Locale, a desking system for collaborative settings.
