Passage Home Seeks to Raise $75,000 to Support Services Benefiting Wake County Citizens in 2015
Funds to Help Local Nonprofit Dedicated to Breaking the Cycle of Poverty in Wake County Meet Needs of Countless Local Families and Children.
Raleigh, NC, June 19, 2015 --(PR.com)-- Passage Home, a nonprofit organization dedicated to breaking the cycle of poverty in Wake County communities, seeks to raise $75,000 by Tuesday, June 30 in partnership with the Stewards Fund. If successful, Passage Home will receive a 100 percent matching grant from the Stewards Fund, resulting in a total of $150,000. Passage Home focus areas impacted include services related to family self-sufficiency, youth development, neighborhood stabilization and revitalization and economic and community development for citizens throughout the area.
Passage Home serves more than 1,000 families and low-income individuals annually who are part of the 11.6 percent of Wake County’s residents living in poverty. Funds raised through this campaign will increase Passage Home’s ability to serve others in the community, which leads to greater organizational efficiency and effectiveness.
In addition, Passage Home’s campaign will allow the organization to help more individuals obtain affordable and stable housing, which it currently provides to more than 300 families each year. With just $142 per family per month, Passage Home will be able to continue to help families find their way home. Passage Home provides items such as furniture for program participants and pay for moving expenses. Once families receive this type of assistance, more than 80 percent will maintain stable housing for more than a year. With grants, Passage Home can provide a more successful and sustainable future for citizens throughout Wake County.
