The new tool estimates the annual cost for labor, utilities, taxes and real estate based on a company’s size, industry and the city selected for analysis. Companies and their site selection advisors can choose from over 35,000 cities, counties and metros in the United States to get cost estimates for over 200 separate industries. I&M ED’s ROI Selection Tool is free to the public and allows users to create and save reports.

The ROI Selection Tool was designed and built by Headlight Data and the data analysis was performed by Headlight Data’s parent company, Avalanche Consulting, Inc. The tool relies on data from multiple sources to populate its database of cities and metros across the United States. When no data for a location is available, modeled data or weighted averages of neighboring or comparable geographies are used.
