New York, NY, June 25, 2015 --(PR.com
)-- "EVERYBODY in LOVE", curated by Ricardo Osmondo Francis, is an interdisciplinary Pop Up art project featuring an eclectic mix of LGBTQ contemporary visual, performance and spoken word artists premieres tonight at BAM in conjunction with "EVERYBOOTY" a multi-genre, multi-gender celebration of queer culture in Brooklyn, NY.
"EVERYBOOTY" returns to the BAM Fisher on Friday, June 26, welcoming all members of the LGBTQ community to celebrate New York City Pride Month. Curated by SPANK, Sarah Jenny, and Big Art Group, this radical arts mash-up highlights local artists shaping the future of contemporary art and culture in a one-night-only event featuring musicians, dancers, visual artists, drag performers, DJs, and more.
According to Ricardo Osmondo Francis, Project Curator, "Conceptually this project is a more lyrical view of 'humanity' and our need to love and be loved through the eyes of LGBTQ identified visual and performing artists. 'EVERYBODY in LOVE' is neither political or polarizing. Instead this project presents a more thought provoking inclusive view of each other while challenging the often social political assumptions we often place on each other. Through painting, drawing, mixed media, photography, film/video, music, poetry/spoken word, and dance, 'EVERYBODY in LOVE' dares the viewer to love one's self, to love life, and to love each other, no matter who it is with or how one identifies them self. The show features visual artists Ricardo Osmondo Francis, David Rios Ferreira, Seth Ruggles Hiler, Joya Angola Thompson, Gail Thacker, Salvador Munoz, Frances Arpaia, La Buruquena, Edwin Gonzalez-Ojeda, Aneeta Mitha and Benito Valadie. Performing artists include Hi Tiger (Musician/Singer), John Zullo and the Zullo/Raw Movement Company (Dance), and spoken word artists Joanna Hoffman, Azure D. Osbourne-Lee and JP Howard."
Doors open at 7:30pm.
