Information Exchange Group’s Technology and Innovation in Mining 2015- International Summit on Mining

TIM 2015 is a carefully designed event that will bring together the leading stakeholders in the mining sector on an exclusive and candid platform, where they will discuss cutting edge technologies in mining to take the industry forward.

New York, NY, July 03, 2015 --(PR.com)-- The inaugural edition of the Technology and Innovation in Mining Summit is taking place on the 10th & 11th of September in Toronto. This is the first time the leading stakeholders from the top operating companies are coming together to discuss, deliberate and debate on how technology and innovation can help organizations achieve greater production efficiencies. With declining commodity prices, mining companies are looking to produce more with less resources and automation and innovation is the only way forward.

Companies such as Barrick Gold, Kinross, Teck Metals, Dundee Precious Metals, Rio Tinto, Torex Gold and a lot more are participating in this forum. They will be sharing case studies and stories from their operations and how they are using technology to achieve what is being termed by industry experts as “Mines of the Future.” This platform will touch base on the latest buzzwords in the industry such as remote operations, drones, simulators, driverless trucks, autonomous equipments just to name a few.

“The mining industry has been slow in adapting technologies which have already changed the way how certain industries function. Reducing the number of humans entering a mine to achieve greater safety and efficiency is the top priority for a lot of mining companies in the current scenario. Through a series of case studies, panel discussions and round table discussions, this forum will allow easy sharing of best practices and help set benchmarks for the industry to move forward in the right direction.” - Apoorv, Head of Mining Events at Information Exchange Group (IXG).

The conference will be held on the 10th & 11th of September in association with the “Canada Mining Innovation Council,” an industry consortium promoting greater R&D efforts in the operating companies.

The conference is being organized by Information Exchange Group (IXG). IXG is an organization dedicated to providing platforms for Technical and Industrial Information Exchange. The main driving force that fuels our mission is the purpose of bridging the gaps that arise as a result of evolving market trends and technological upgrades. Our group works through a range of event formats enabling the exchange of knowledge in an effectual manner.
