About the Author

Professor Juergen Freyschmidt has been retired for several years but continues to head the counseling office and reference center for skeletal radiology at Bremen-Mitte Hospital in Bremen, Germany. Professor Freyschmidt is a radiologist specializing in bone and skeletal diseases and has authored various standard works on this topic, following a 24-year career as Department Chairman at Bremen-Mitte Hospital. He is regularly consulted by various healthcare professionals, who seek his advice on equivocal or complicated findings. Professor Freyschmidt is currently a member of the board of directors of the Musculoskeletal Radiology Working Group of the German Radiology Society and has directed the Skeletal Radiology Seminar in Bremen for 25 years. In addition, he is an honorary member of numerous national and international scientific societies and a recipient of the Founder’s Medal of the International Skeletal Society.
