St. Louis Financial Company Changes Name

New name launches firm into the next generation.

Webster Groves, MO, August 06, 2015 --(PR.com)-- Hancock, a St. Louis-based financial organization, recently rebranded and renamed the company Detalus. The business is comprised of four affiliated companies that include Detalus Advisors, Detalus Consulting, Detalus Institutional, and Detalus Securities.

Detalus provides a variety of services including investment advisory, brokerage, and consulting to financial institutions, individuals, families, nonprofit organizations, and small businesses. The company’s expertise focuses on investments, risk management, and education.

Detalus Securities is a member of the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) and Securities Investor Protection Corporation (SIPC), and both Detalus Advisors and Detalus Institutional are Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) registered investment advisors.

Detalus will remain at its current location at 383 Marshall Ave. in Webster Groves, Mo. Managing Directors Steven Rull and Joseph Garea founded Manchester Partners in 1997, which they later developed into Hancock in 1999. Both Rull and Garea, along with Clint Lewis and John Smith, are Managing Directors at Detalus.

A nod to Greek mythology, the phonetically spelled Detalus refers to the ancient myth of Daedalus and his son Icarus. When escaping the island of Crete, Daedalus crafted two pairs of wings and recommended to Icarus not to fly too high (the sun would melt the wax in the wings) or too low (the sea water would weigh down the wings.) According to the myth, Icarus ignored his father’s advice, flew too close to the sun, and ultimately paid the price while Daedalus successfully escaped the island.

As noted by Steve Rull, “We identify with Daedalus in the story, helping our clients determine the appropriate level of risk to drive their financial goals.”
