Nanny Poppinz requires nannies undergo the most extensive background check in the industry, including:
-A multi-state criminal check and verification of county court records, to ensure up to date information.
-Internet background check, including social media. According to Mayhew, it is important each nanny encompasses family values and will represent the agency in the best light.
-Verification of employment references and experience. Nannies are required to have a minimum of three years verifiable childcare experience and three references from past employers.
-CPR certification and First Aid training.
-Face-to-face interview with Mayhew.
According to Mayhew, the face-to-face interview not only helps to ensure nannies meets the agency’s high standards, but it also assists in matching families with the right nanny.
“I meet with families and nannies to gage compatibility,” said Mayhew. “One nanny may be an perfect for one family, but not for another. I work to determine personalities are a match and that I only send families nannies who will reinforce their parenting styles.”
