Updates on Shale Gas Regulation and Licenses at the SMi's 6th Annual Shale Gas Environmental Summit
SMi Group Reports: Hampshire Country Council, Warwick Business School and Mobb’s Environmental Investigations and Research will meet at the 6th Annual Shale Gas Environmental Summit 2015 in London, to discuss updates in Shale Gas regulation and licenses.
Professor Michael Bradshow, Professor of Global Energy in Warwick Business School will be presenting his keynote address on: Why the UK needs exploratory drilling. He will discuss what the current debate is based on, what exploratory drilling will be able to tell us and will explore environmentally friendly approaches to exploratory drilling.
Paul Mobbs, Proprietor at Mobb’s Environmental Investigations’ presentation will explore the question: ‘Is the contradiction between promoting safety, and yet excluding the public from the debate on standard, driving the public’s rejection of unconventional gas?’ The presentation will also look into the emphasis put on technology and regulation as a guarantor of safety.
The 6th Annual Shale Gas Environmental Summit taking place from the 26th – 27th October will discuss the risks shale gas poses to health and human rights, evaluate solutions for the issue to waste water and leakage and ultimately strive to attain a balanced insight into the environmental debate surrounding shale gas. This, and much more will be presented by leading industry experts from: CMS, University of London, CIWEM, Sussex Wildlife Trust, University of Glasgow, John Busby Ltd and many more.
