What would you do if you knew beyond the shadow of a doubt that you can contribute more to your passion, but are limited by the nine to five grind? What would you do when you know you've made literally millions for the CEO, and all you come away with a "good job" with a polite pat on the back? Well if your name happens to be Glenn Murray, then you begin to carve out your own entrepreneurial destiny.

"I've always believed that I could do more in marketing, but sometimes you're limited by position or the area in which you work" says Glenn Murray, founder of Kreations Arts and Imports and its sister company, 220 Communications specializing in guerilla marketing campaigns, cross marketing sales and awareness.

Born in the heart of southern hospitality in Memphis, Murray now calls Chicago home. This 36-year-old go-getter has a background framed in success. Due to his involvement with most recognized advertising companies in the world such as Discover, General Electric, and Sears, Murray has a firm grip on what it takes to build a cost-effective public relations and marketing program. His long term relationship with the international titan firm of Leo Burnett Worldwide, whose companies flourishes in Europe, Africa, Asia/Pacific and the Americas only added more charisma to his technique.

With a surplus of heavy advertising artillery under his belt, the highly experienced Murray is very humble about his sharing how he started on his own, with a lot of support from family. His first product was art.

"My family owns Alim Arts a Michigan based company that specializes in imported Afican Art," notes Murray.

Kreations was conceived when Murray became consumed with promoting showings for a family business. With repeated bookings for Alim Arts, he designed an idea to provide something out of the ordinary. That idea was to provide exceptional services for his clients by establishing a one-stop cultural online shopping arts experience.

Enter Kreations. This is a company that not only features new artists on its website, but hosts live events from January through December. Murray's signature event is "Authors and Artists-An Evening of Literature and Culture." Authors and Artists" is an annual summer event occuring in a select major U.S. city, and is one of the most well-known.

He states that "Authors and Artists was created to ultra-network the literary and the artistic, thus creating a cultural combination that an absolute one-of-its-kind. We've held events in Chicago, Detroit, Milwaukee, Memphis and Indianapolis."

Kreation's sister company, 220 Communications, came about as a need to be met. Murray found himself being consistently contacted by word of mouth from authors and businesses who wanted to learn how to market their work.

As a result, Murray's main objective for 220 Communications was simply "to help others and show individuals that it doesn't take a huge amount of money to market your product."

The influential arts campaigner said that when he launched 220 Communications it quickly became the marketing and representation arm for numerous artists, authors, and public speakers. Among speaker Murray represents are Minister Joyce Alim, Sharon Stroud, and Youth at the Crossroads founder Lakeisha Hamilton. Artists include Terrence Haymer; Yvonne Coleman-Burney, and S. Teresa and Cheryl Toles. Published fiction and non-fiction authors include Carla Curtis, Monica Young-Freeman, Rev. Toni Akers and Paulette Stinson, as well as several product vendors.

Murray states "I show people that hard work equalizes you and your competition--without regard to money, social situation or setbacks keeps you pushing on." He further maintains, "Keep outworking the others and you'll be the last one standing. Success is the reward of the persistent."
