Calgary, Canada, August 28, 2015 --(PR.com
)-- The Electronic Recycling Association (ERA) has partnered with Chinook Centre to host an electronics collection and data destruction event for mall patrons and the general public. Individuals are invited to bring in unwanted electronic equipment to be processed. If requested, hard drives will be shredded onsite. This event is the second in a series of three events between ERA and Chinook Centre aimed at raising awareness and increasing uptake of electronic recycling programs.
Chinook Centre will also be awarding two grand prizes to individuals who have donated unwanted equipment to the Electronic Recycling Drive. Entrants will have the opportunity to win gift cards for use towards equipment upgrades at Apple or Microsoft in Chinook Centre. Full contest details are available here: https://www.cfshops.com/chinook-centre/news-events/events/electronic-recycling-at-chinook-centre.html
ERA accepts most electronic equipment (computers, laptops, printers, phones, tablets, stereos etc.) and will remove data from all equipment received prior to evaluating it for reuse potential. Reusable equipment will be refurbished to support ERA’s Canada-wide computer donation programs while end-of-life equipment will be passed on to ERA’s accredited recycling partners for responsible final processing.
Media representatives are invited to attend and cover this community event.

Established in 2004, ERA is a non-profit organization committed to reducing the environmental impact of improperly discarded toxic electronic waste by offering accessible services to help corporations and individuals manage their retiring IT assets. ERA offers industry leading data erasure services, prompt and professional corporate pickup services and detailed reporting. With reuse being ERA’s top priority, every item that is received is examined for any remaining productive life and, if possible, refurbished for reuse.
