Food Bank of South Jersey Announces Dine Out for Hunger Campaign

Local Restaurants Participating in September 15 Fundraiser Include Capital Grille, Maggiano’s, and Bertucci’s

Pennsauken, NJ, September 11, 2015 --(PR.com)-- Consumers can support the Food Bank of South Jersey’s mission on Tuesday, September 15 by having lunch or dinner at restaurants participating in the non-profit organization’s inaugural Dine Out For Hunger campaign.

Approximately 30 restaurants, from sandwich franchises like Jersey Mike’s Sub to fine-dining establishments like The Capital Grille, are supporting the event and donating a portion of their proceeds to FBSJ. A complete list of restaurants can be viewed at www.foodbanksj.org/dineout.

Dine Out for Hunger is part of a series of special events that FBSJ has organized throughout September in support of Hunger Action Month, a nationwide effort to raise awareness and generate help for the nearly 50 million Americans facing food-insecurity.

“We are always searching for ways to unite businesses to our cause,” noted FBSJ Chief Development Officer Tom Sims. “Dine Out For Hunger is a new venture for us that we expect to evolve into a highly-successful, annual event.”

Diane Lager, Managing Partner at The Capital Grille in Cherry Hill, NJ, states that causes like FBSJ’s Dine Out For Hunger strike a special chord with those who work in the food services industry.

“Our community certainly understands the power of food, and the difference that consistent access to nutritious meals makes to a child, a senior citizen, to anyone with need,” stated Lager. “We are privileged to have The Capital Grille play a part in Dine Out For Hunger."
