Tampa, FL, September 15, 2015 --(PR.com
)-- ABISA, LLC Chief Executive Officer Nick Hernandez is working with state legislators and other healthcare colleagues to increase access to healthcare by means of telehealth throughout Florida.
Hernandez met with Florida state legislators and others in Orlando over a two-day period this month discussing strategies to help generate consensus from the Florida government to develop policies and approve funding. “Legislators need to be involved to take telehealth to the next level,” Hernandez said.
Telehealth is an effective delivery system for providing quality care and produces better utilization of limited healthcare resources. Just this past week, Hernandez met with various healthcare institutions sharing their experiences and progress with telehealth initiatives in Florida. “Under healthcare reform, we are expecting patients to be consumers,” Hernandez said. “To that end, telehealth is a piece of the healthcare transformation. Telehealth is not the future, it is here now and other states are way ahead of Florida in its usage.”
