San Mateo, CA, September 14, 2015 --(PR.com
)-- Asante Africa Foundation is excited to host a thought leadership event that will focus on combining ideas around innovation from Silicon Valley and Africa to catalyze global, social change around the world.
“Innovation is no longer one directional or single faceted, and exciting ideas across varied sectors are disrupting ‘business as usual’ practices to solve some of our toughest global challenges,” said Erna Grasz, CEO of Asante Africa Foundation. “Across Africa and Silicon Valley, globally viable and financially successful solutions are multi-dimensional, collaborative, intentionally disruptive and share other key fundamentals.”
The event will focus on how Silicon Valley change makers can have a strong impact on creating workable innovation in East Africa. A panel of globally recognized experts will include Grasz, Steve Wright (Grameen Foundation & Salesforce.com Foundation), Titus Ngeno (Savanna Global Advisors) and Astrid Scholz (Sphaera Solutions).
“Africa needs local, homegrown solutions to address their social problems,” said HItal Muraj, corporate affairs manager of Cisco Nairobi, who will be presenting a keynote at the event. “Silicon Valley is in a unique opportunity to be able help these local people address their own needs by coming together to share innovative ideas.”
The event will take place on Thursday, September 17 at 5:30 p.m. PT at the Silicon Valley Community Foundation’s San Mateo Conference Center in San Mateo, California. Register for the event at http://www.brownpapertickets.com/event/2008625.
