Warrior to Cyber Warrior and Lunarline School of Cyber Security Unveil New Curriculum to Help US Veterans Transition to Civilian Life

Warrior to Cyber Warrior's new curriculum helps Veterans secure rewarding careers in the civilian cyber security world.

Arlington, VA, September 23, 2015 --(PR.com)-- The Warrior to Cyber Warrior (W2CW) Foundation today unveiled a new curriculum designed to equip its students with the skills they need to fight back against an ever more threatening cyber world. Featuring a demanding technical course load followed by an independent Capstone project, this new curriculum will prepare Veterans to tackle new cyber challenges as civilians.

"Recent cyber-attacks - like the Ashley Madison, OPM and Sony hacks - highlight our adversaries' exceptional technical sophistication," says Rebecca Onuskanich, a W2CW Director and Cyber Warrior Princess. "Our goal with this new curriculum is to prepare our students to fight back against sophisticated attacks as civilian cyber security professionals."

W2CW provides free cyber security training to US Veterans - or if a Veteran is unable to support their family, their spouse. Successful graduation from the W2CW program requires that students navigate a demanding 24 week cyber security training regime. Students learn security fundamentals, explore technical subjects like incident response, cryptography and software assurance, and explore emerging topics in security and privacy. They gain experience conducting and presenting independent technical research and graduate with industry recognized cyber security certifications.

"We started W2CW to help returning Veterans transition from military to civilian life. We equip them with the skills and certifications they need to secure rewarding careers in the civilian cyber security world," says W2CW Chairman Waylon Krush. "Those students who have what it takes to successful complete this challenging program are prepared to make an immediate difference as civilian cyber professionals."
